The Cost Effective Solution for High Volume,
Low Concentration Process Streams

The Anguil Rotor Concentrator/Oxidizer is designed to adsorb Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) from a high volume, low concentration airstream and to oxidize the VOCs in a reduced volume, high concentration process stream.

Rotor Concentrator

The high volume airstream is passed through a rotor concentrator wheel where the VOCs are adsorbed in the bed, purifying the high volume air. This high volume air is then exhausted to atmosphere. The concentrator wheel rotates continuously, transporting adsorbed VOCs into a desorption section. In the desorption section, the adsorbed organics are desorbed from the adsorptive media with a low volume heated airstream. This low volume, high VOC-laden air is then processed by an oxidizer. The operational cost of the oxidizer is substantially reduced via this concentration process.

The Rotor Concentrator/Oxidizer is often the most cost effective technology for processing high volume, low VOC concentration streams. While the capital cost of a system is competitive with other technologies, the true savings is realized in reduced operating costs. The chart below illustrates the fuel cost savings achievable with an Anguil Concentrator/Oxidizer system.

The Anguil Integrated Rotor Concentrator
System Solution

The Anguil Concentrator/Oxidizer combines two technologies to achieve VOC capture and destruction. All Anguil oxidation technologies are available for integration with the Rotor Concentrator.

Rotor Concentrator Schematic

System Components

Rotor Concentrator/Oxidizer Systems include a process fan capable of processing the full volume of exhaust at the required pressure drop of adsorber, the rotor concentrator bed material, a catalytic or thermal oxidizer with fan, reactor and burner, interconnecting ductwork, exhaust stack, and PLC controls.

Safety Shutdowns
The system will shut down safely and automatically if any of the following occur:

  • Electrical power loss to the control panel
  • High temperature in the system
  • Excessive outlet temperature
  • Burner malfunction

The first-out shutdown detector will indicate the cause of any shutdown.

FEATURES BENEFITS
Minimum fuel consumption. Permits low cost processing of high volume, low VOC concentration streams.
Small footprint and lightweight design. Allows unit to be installed according to critical space and weight limitations, including roof mounting.
Continual exhaust processing capability. Exhaust flow remains uninterrupted by disturbances in the process flow.
Modular design. Allows configuration to customer requirements.
Inorganic silica adsorption media. Reduces fire hazard commonly present when carbon is employed.
PLC based controls. Automatic, user-friendly system operation.
Self-contained treatment system. No hazardous waste is generated.
High relative humidity, up to 100%, has no significant effect on the system. Application flexibility.
