The Anguil Self-Cleaning Ceramic Filter collects, volatilizes and destroys particulate and condensible organics emitted from industrial process streams, such as paint spray, lost foam casting, condensible organics, tenter frames and cured rubber operations. It may be used independently as a hot or cold filter media or coupled with an oxidation module for total odor and Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) control.

How the Self-Cleaning Ceramic Filter Works

The Ceramic Filter is designed based on exhaust airflow volume, type of contaminant and desired collection efficiency. During operation, the process stream, containing hot or cold particulate laden air, condensible organics or VOCs, is drawn into the Ceramic Filter. The process stream passes over a ceramic matrix selected based on particle size and collection efficiency considerations. The Ceramic Matrix is periodically or continuously heated by a natural gas burner, where any organics collected on the Ceramic Matrix are volatilized. Any non-organics collected on the Ceramic Matrix are converted to inorganic ash and retained in the unit drop out chamber.

Self-Cleaning Ceramic Filter The volatilized organics may then be processed by an integral catalyst module, which can be supplied with the Ceramic Filter System or processed by an independent thermal or catalytic oxidizer. The oxidation of the volatilized organics results in the generation of CO2 and H2O vapor as the products of combustion.

Anguil's Cost Effective Design

The Ceramic Filter is a patented filter designed as part of Anguil's broad line of technologically advanced, yet user-friendly, air pollution control products. The Anguil product line includes over 1,600 installations of Recuperative and Regenerative Catalytic and Thermal Oxidizers ranging in size from 100 to 100,000 SCFM (150-150,000 Nm3/hr), Ceramic Filter Systems, Soil Remediation Equipment, Rotor Concentrator Systems and Scrubbers. Each product line represents value-engineered systems with emphasis on cost minimization. All systems are designed for optimum performance and trouble-free operation.

Anguil strives to provide innovative pollution control technology including process analysis, engineering, equipment manufacturing, installation and post-sale 24-hour service.

System Components

Self Cleaning Ceramic Filter Systems include a system fan, motor, modulating burner, ceramic filter, fuel train, oxidizer module, system controls, temperature recorder and exhaust stack. The system's components are housed in a weatherproof, insulated steel housing with access doors that allow service to all internal parts.

Options

  • Continuous self cleaning
  • Custom designed systems
  • Integrated into process line
  • Exhaust stack extensions
  • Heat Exchanger Module

Safety Shutdowns

The system will shut down safely and automatically if any of the following occur:

  • Electrical power loss to the control panel
  • Loss of proper air flow
  • High/low temperature or gas pressure
  • Flame-out of the burner

The first-out shutdown detector will indicate the cause of a shutdown.

FEATURES BENEFITS
Self-cleaning. Eliminates the need for standard filter systems and the cost and liability associated with disposing of hazardous waste. Reduces system maintenance and downtime for cleaning.
Removes particulate prior to reaction chamber. Permits the use of catalytic technology in processing particulate laden VOC air streams.
Can be located immediately following the process. Reduces fire hazard caused by build-up of flammable material on duct walls.
Oxidizes organics. Eliminates odors.
Structured thermal energy recovery media. Low pressure drop lowers electrical costs.
Filter can be cleaned off-line or can be supplied with the "on-line cleaning option." Provides process flexibility and applicability to many different processes.
